DIY Trailer Jack Block With the recent purchase of my new enclosed trailer there have been many small upgrades I have been slowly making. Before we started on the engine swap we wanted to improve the lighting in the garage which was frankly, HORRID! It had a single 100 watt light bulb (approximately 1600 lumens). This garage is 23x15 (345 sq ft). The optimal lighting per square foot in a space like a garage or shop is 30 lumens per square foot. At 1600 lumens that's only 4.6 lumens per square foot. With 2 new fixtures rated at 4500 lumens we move that number up to 26 lumens per square foot. If we keep using the 100 watt bulb in addition to our two new fixtures that brings us up to 30 lumens per square foot. This was a very easy installation process and the lights performed flawlessly.
